The subjects of most of my photographs are human-made objects as opposed to natural forms, because to me nature doesn’t have the irony that is inherent in so many human creations. When this irony is viewed by a curious mind through open eyes, it can become poetic, or artistic. I think that inspecting humanity with a sense of humor and compassion allows us to accept our own flaws, and those of our fellow citizens of the world. I don’t presume to claim that my photos make this sort of sweeping introspection possible for all viewers, but looking at some of the pictures I have taken lets me see that this is my hope for them.
