Photography is an excellent communicative medium to capture not only subject matter, but also how the artist interprets the subject matter. Photography is a still medium, yet can show movement and life. It can emphasise the “passing of time” and capture beauty in its essence.

I like to create artwork that invokes an emotional response or will transport the viewer to another time and space. In essence, I like to give the viewer the opportunity to see the subject matter in a different perspective. These are some of the qualities I have tried to incorporate into my work.

Each of these works where shot with a SRL camera and developed and printed in a traditional B&W darkroom by myself. I have developed some of the work with a sepia toner. Some of the effects I wanted to achieve could not be done traditionally, so I have enhanced them digitally in Photoshop.
