Gloria de los Santos

Cyanotypes are evident by their brilliant blue color. It is a non-silver process, and there is no negative. I use plants and flowers from my garden in the beautiful Kettle River Valley, in rural Washington State. Along with a contact frame and sunlight to expose the prints--the designs are deceptively simple. It’s a way to preserve the garden and remember the beauty and joy that flowers and plants give. Cyanotypes pick up the fine details of the flower or plant that normal photographs do not. The silhouette of the flower or plant is a wonderful way to look again at the plants and flowers that give us so much joy. I have explored many art mediums. Currently I am working with encaustics, photography and collage. Please contact me if you would like to see more or see my website at: www.gloriadelossantos.com Thanks!
